On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, beloved World 50 Group Executive Advisor Larry Bossidy passed away peacefully at 90 years old.
Remembered fondly for saying, “I wish I had me when I was them,” Bossidy was the consummate mentor, the dean of—and instrumental in forming—the Advisor platform, and integral to World 50 since 2008. Throughout his years advising and mentoring members, he maintained a firm commitment to excellence, a knack for doling out clear-eyed insights, and an unmatched wit.
Over the years, he dispensed his wisdom generously. The following are a few memorable quotes:
“The best leaders, regardless of leadership style, have unshakeable focus. They pursue their objectives with ardor, and they admit when they make mistakes—and more than that, they learn from those missteps.”
“Never look back and say, ‘I wish I had…’ If you encourage those around you and you take chances, you’ll lead a very full life.”
“Know who you are. Be honest with yourself. Take chances. Make sure you allocate time sensibly with your families, with your business, with whatever is most meaningful to you.”
“Leaving a legacy is not the highest priority. Do your job as best as you can, and legacy comes later. That’s a measurement that’s going to be bestowed upon you. I never worried about a legacy. I just did the best job I could.”
Bossidy leaves a legacy to be admired. 66 years of marriage to his wife Nancy, who passed away in 2023. They are survived by nine children and dozens of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Larry, we thank you for always doing the best job you could.
